Benchmark index Nifty closed 80 points down at 18560 holding psychological level of 18500.Banknifty dropped around 100 points at 43098 sustaining above 43000 levels.RBI increased repo rate by 35 basis points to 6.25 percent in order to control inflation.Volatility index India vix increased by .28 percent and close above 14.Today's Nifty top performing stocks were Asian paints, Hindustan Unilever and BPCL where as top loosers were SBI LIFE,Bajaj finserv and NTPC
